Below are some questions we anticipate Rhode Islanders may have about the Rhode Island Health Information Survey.

What is the Rhode Island Health Information Survey?
The Rhode Island Information Survey is a survey that helps the state better understand the health coverage and health insurance needs of Rhode Islanders. The results help guide state policy and programs related to health care.
How was my household selected?
Your household was randomly selected from households within Rhode Island. Since we cannot survey the entire population of Rhode Island, we scientifically selected a sample for the survey.
Who in my household should take the survey?
The survey should be completed by an adult (18 or older) in your household who knows about health care and health insurance for the people living in your household.
Is there any risk in taking this survey?

Some individuals might feel uncomfortable answering specific questions. However, you may skip any question you do not feel comfortable answering. There is minimal risk in taking the survey.

What is the research benefit in taking this survey?
There is no direct benefit to you, but in answering this survey, you will help the state of Rhode Island develop policy and programs related to health care.
How will the results be used?
The results will be used by the state to inform policies and programs related to health care. You can see the executive summary report from the 2024 Rhode Island Health Information Survey here.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. It is very important to us to protect your privacy. Your answers will be combined with responses from other people. When we release the results of the survey, nothing will be included that could identify you or your household.
How will I receive my $10 gift card?

You will receive your electronic gift card via email immediately after completing the survey. You can choose from a variety of vendors. If you complete the survey by telephone, we will mail you a CVS gift card.

Is this survey available in Spanish?

Who sponsors and who collects data for this survey?
This survey is sponsored by HealthSource RI, the Rhode Island state-based health coverage marketplace. HealthSource RI has contracted with SSRS, an independent research company, to collect data for the survey.
